Students should always check with the state licensing board to understand their requirements before choosing a suitable degree program.
Accreditation Is Vital

Online group learning is not the easiest part of earning a degree via the Internet. Since as an online student you might be performing other duties and obligations one has to coordinate with other group members with their respective hectic schedules. Without the assistance of a social network one can have difficulty to effectively communicate as mixed messages that are vague could be interpreted differently by each group member.
Here are five ways Facebook will allow you to work more efficiently in your online group learning project.
1. Know Who You Study With and Who Is Teaching You
Use Facebook to interact with your fellow student online group members. Get to know what their daily routine is and how they schedule their study time. Try and become friendly with your group members so all of you can sacrifice time here and there to better function as group.
Make an attempt to interact with your instructor through Facebook. Use Facebook to get to know your instructor and guage whether they will assist you and how. Since you are an online student and if you are assigned a groupe project than your instructor who has assigned you the work should be interacted with without any hesitation.

What to Look for When Choosing an Online School
Posted by Teacher on Apr.11, 2012, under Online Education, Online Learning No Comments
Choosing to attend school online can be an incredibly convenient and affordable way to earn a degree or certificate in a field of study. Online learning lets the student study at their convenience, when their schedule allows, and can be done without even leaving the house.
There are several factors one should look at when choosing an online study program. However, geographic location can be eliminated
as a deciding factor, as online learning can be done from anywhere. It’s quite possible to live in New York State and choose an online course of study from a college located in California. Although, an online institution that is based in another country may not be the best option as a degree or certificate from that country may not be recognized in another country.
Below is a list of several key items to keep in mind when choosing an online college in the United States:
1. Choose a Course of Study. The first course of action is the student pinpointing his or her interests and deciding on a major of which they will enjoy and be successful. A major should be chosen out of an attraction to the subject matter, not solely on job availability or income potential.
2. Does the College Have the Chosen Major? It may seem obvious, but yes the student should make sure that the online college has the major of their choice but also the department to support it. Make sure there are plenty of courses available and staff to support classes (continue reading…)
Top 10 College Majors

Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce (CEW) released a study in 2009 that looked at salaries and job prospects for 171 college degrees. While the subject of the top 10 college majors could be debated forever and never come up with a
conclusion, due to the subjective nature of the topic, the study put out by Georgetown gives a lot of interesting facts and statistics which could help you come up with your own top 10 college majors list. Hopefully this article will give you enough information to help you narrow your decision on the type of degree that you would like to pursue. We have shared some of the highlights of the study below.
For Starters…
In these tough economic times, some people have wondered if getting a college degree is worth the time, effort, and most importantly, money that it takes to earn one. This study shows that on average a full-time, full-year worker with a Bachelor’s degree can expect to earn 84% more over a lifetime than a colleague who has no better than a high school diploma.
While any college degree is always better than no college degree, not all college degrees are created equal as far as earning potential is concerned. For example, the highest earning major earns 314 percent more at the median than the lowest-earning major at the median ($120,000 for Petroleum Engineering majors to $29,000 for Counseling Psychology majors).
