This article begins with a false, but widely held, premise that, "The aim of education is to transfer knowledge to students through mediums of instruction." That mindset, along with teaching to the test, is one of the leading causes of the country's dropout problem. We need to transform our education system from teacher-centered to student-centered. The emphas must be on student learning, not teacher instructing. The rest of the article makes valid points, but they would be more salient if they were presented in the ctudent-centered paradigm.
